ABOUT JADE DRESSLER

With lifestyle clients hailing from the urban jungles of New York City, Paris, and Milan to wireless retreats in the wild and steamy rainforest jungles of Brazil’s Amazon, as an artist, inventor and creative multipath, I have always had one bare foot squishing mud in the rich and diverse roots of cultures past and the other low-carbon, futuristic footprint firmly planted in the future.

All told I am clocking 30+ adventurous years building brands, product, and experiences from these vantage points and a little over 10 years as creative director of my namesake agency based in New York City.

My roots are a first-year scholarship and BFA from Moore College of Art, followed by monthly summer immersions in art, design and architecture studies at Parsons Paris and Villanova University in Siena, Italy. My years as a retail store designer for Macy’s led to designing collection of couture jewelry and accessories, called JAMP in the 1980’s and 90’s. We designed for the runways of legendary designers, Bill Blass, Mary McFadden, and Oscar de la Renta; the Aveda stores and The New Museum; and our work adorned the bodies of goddess legends such as Cher, Heart, Iman, Nina Hagen, Helena Christensen and Naomi Campbell. The collection was sold in Henri Bendels, Saks Fifth Avenue, Martha’s, Ron Herman, the famed Charivari, and internationally, by stores such as Joyce in Hong Kong and Creeds. JAMP was featured in media such as Accessories, Details, Elle, Marie Claire, New York Times, Vogue, W, and WWD; notably styled by Stephan Gan; and photographed by Sheila Metzner.

In the 1990’s, my travels took me alternately from Paris for business or to New Mexico, root-searching and being drenched in sweat lodges with Pueblo Indians. During this time, I designed and produced branding, marketing, product development and clothing collections for one of the first organic cotton clothing companies. I designed their stores in Frenchtown, New Jersey, Santa Fe + Taos, New Mexico, New Orleans, New York City and Austin, Texas, while I volunteered on organic farms for balance!

Insert more dancing, creating, and other things here, such as advanced yoga immersions at the feet of masters such as Parvati, Shri Pattabhi Jois, and Sharon and David of Jivamukti. My Feng Shui studies were with His Holiness Grandmaster Professor Lin Yun, the spiritual master who brought Feng Shui to the United States as the founder of Tibetan Tantric Black Hat Sect Esoteric Buddhism Feng Shui of the Bon tradition (aka BTB) and a 3-year master training with Melani Lewandowski, one of Yun’s core students. As 2000 opened I was alternately teaching yoga on weekends with hosting my MUD party in NYC, one of the first house music parties at Baktun, above legendary The Cooler in the Meatpacking district, with my day job as a marketing director for an international company in the dance music industry.

Since 2007, as creative director of my NYC-based namesake creative agency, Jade Dressler, I lead teams that design, develop, and maximize brand strategy, platforms, and events for pop-culture and luxury lifestyle brands, with clients that have ranged from mass brands like American Express; to Sony Pictures Classics; or to hip-hop’s XXL magazine; and to personality clients, working with a fun bunch ranging from Park-Avenue socialites to top doctors to Olympic athletes, including Michael Phelps.

A globe-trotting type, I have envisioned, curated and created award-winning art installations in the environment; led press trips; directed and styled fashion shows and music videos; and have been invited to speak on art and design, in far-flung magnificent destinations, such as Lake Como, Milan; Paris, France; Sao Paulo, Brazil; St. Barths, West Indies and Perthshire, Scotland. Our ideas have graced the TV networks; print media and fashion runways of LA and NYC; the mountains of Brazil and the deserts of Arizona; and from the highlands of Scotland to the highlands of Miami Art Basel.

My long-form adventure chronicles since 2009 are at thejadedress.com and I've also penned articles on sustainability and art for Metropolis magazine and DesignObserver. Speaking engagements have ranged from original content and leading panels for International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) Panel Talks in NYC to moderator on future trends for The University of Arizona Museum of Art's gala to the Boom SP Design Conference in Brazil, on the roster with Karim Rashid and other design superstar luminaries.   www.jadedressler.com
